Our Cambodian Charity Project

RAW Impact's three main project areas include:
Sustain / Educate / Protect / 

Educate: SEAL Teacher Training
As specialists in the area of speech, language and literacy we are excited to be involved with RAW Impact's Teacher Training Project. We donated our time to create an innovative, specialised English speech, language and literacy course for Cambodian teachers and children in rural Cambodia, to play an instrumental role in establishing positive and lasting educational change.

The TLT System® has been adapted for use with RAW Impact's SEAL (Speech English And Literacy) training project in Cambodia.

Devised by Vicki Selwyn-Barnett, the system is based on over 30 years of successfully teaching speech, language and literacy acquisition to children and adults of all ages and abilities. The adapted version is intended for use in countries where English is not that country's primary spoken language or written code.

Stage one of our training project took place in January 2014. We continue to train Cambodian teachers each year. We are currently raising funds to support the spread of this successful training initiative to other village schools in rural Cambodia.

Our project was a finalist in the 2015 AGDA Design for Good Award.

Our Kindness Charity Project

Empowering children to make a difference through human kindness 
The b kinder initiative and resources are promoting empathy and compassion in children ultimately reducing mental health issues, bullying and suicide. 12 year old Billie Kinder died in a tragic horse accident in May 2016. Billie was an extraordinary girl in that she had the gift of giving. She gave through her smile, her thoughtfulness, her constant acts of kindness and her amazing gift of words. Through Billie's empathy and insight, her b kinder legacy empowers and inspires others to remind us all that our actions matter and that we each have the power to make a difference through human kindness. With a play on her name, Billie's legacy has become one of kindness and through the
b kinder initiative flyhighbillie is having a huge, positive impact on young people's lives.

The b kinder workbooks
The TLT System® uses the b kinder workbooks alongside our Sound Cards as flyhighbillie's unique, positive, interactive literacy resources (endorsed by psychologists and teachers) empower children to make a difference through kindness, which aligns with the Language Tree's philosophy.
