Vicki Selwyn-Barnett
Vicki Selwyn-Barnett

As a qualified speech & language pathologist, Vicki has over 30 years experience and is the proprietor and founder of The Language Tree clinic based in Sydney's northern beaches, NSW. Vicki also established The Spellit Practice in May 2000 in London, (www.spellitpractice.co.uk). She is a published author and specialises in treating children with literacy, language and articulation disorders. Vicki thoroughly enjoys working with children of all ages from pre-school to adolescence and provides a range of services in addition to direct 1:1 therapy. Designed to empower parents to work actively with their children in a guided and rewarding manner, these extra services include: online courses for literacy skills, masterclasses, parent workshops & holiday intensives. Vicki has designed and developed the TLT System® over the last 20 years, including an adapted version for ESL students. Vicki is qualified in Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), The Spalding Method®, parent-child interaction & is a trained Defeat Autism Now (DAN) Practitioner. ​

Michelle van Dyk
​Michelle holds a Bachelor degree of Communication Pathology specialising in speech-language therapy and audiology as well as a Masters degree of Communication Pathology. Michelle is trained in both the  TLT System®  and The Hanen Method® which she uses at The Language Tree. Michelle is also a qualified audiologist. Michelle enjoys working with clients across all ages and assists clients with spoken and written communication issues including reading, handwriting, spelling and sentence construction difficulties. Michelle has previously been involved in establishing clinical policies and procedures across numerous settings within both the public and private healthcare sector. Michelle has undergone extensive parent-child interaction training and has a passion for creating fun, engaging therapy sessions.

Erin Hopkins
Erin is a warm, knowledgeable and engaging teacher who is passionate about working with families and their children to develop literacy skills and confidence. Erin is our online specialist literacy coach, who offers sessions over zoom to support parents and children using the Literacy Read & Write Program. Erin has worked as a creative writing teacher, high school English teacher, ESL teacher to both children and adults and is also a mindfulness teacher in primary school. She has two bachelor’s degrees in English and  Communication/Journalism and a Master’s Degree in Education. She has also been trained in Georgina Manning’s Peaceful Kids Program.

Neil Barnett
Neil Barnett
Neil is trained in The Spalding Method® and has a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design from St. Martins College of Art (University of the Arts London), a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from Cambridge University and over 20 years experience in teaching and leadership in Australian and international, dual-sector education institutions. Neil was Head of Academic Studies at Billy Blue College of Design for six years and before that Course Director at London College of Communication (UAL) for four years. Neil's part-time role at The Language Tree is as our visual communications wizard, designing and producing all of the beautiful trademarked resources we use in the clinic and online. His design work for our charity collaboration with RAW Impact was recently shortlisted in Australian Graphic Design Association Design For Good Award.
