This ten year old boy made instant progress in his handwriting after only 30 minutes of initial instruction as can be seen by the re-write of the first line of his story. Note further progress after three months in handwriting; size, shape, angle and flow (motor pattern now well established) and in the quality of his story. Child 2: This eight year old girl presented with severe dyslexia and language disorder as can be seen in her initial sample which was a story about a monster and rocket. After 11 months of weekly therapy she demonstrated enormous progress in her vocabulary and handwriting which went from print to cursive and improved in terms of spacing and size. She remained fascinated with monsters in her story and her reading improved dramatically. She made six years progress in her decoding for reading in the space of just one year following The Spalding Method®. This was achieved through weekly sessions and holiday intensives as well as regular practice daily at home for short 10 minute bursts. Child 3: This seven year old boy attended a two hour handwriting workshop with his mother so that she could learn the technique and feel empowered to assist him at home. Within two hours his large print letter formation reduced in size sufficiently to enable him to begin cursive writing. |
